One of the many highlights of last Summer's Ieperfest in Belgium was seeing the Detroit Metal/Hardcore hybrid Walls Of Jericho lay waste to the main stage on Saturday evening. Having not toured for nearly 5 years, it was nostalgic and exciting to see them smash out a set full of anger and passion as if they had never been absent from heavy music at all. In between songs, front woman Candace Kucsulain announced that they were set to release a new album in 2016.
Well, it is now 2016 and the wait is nearly over. On March 25th the band will release new album ‘No One Can Save You From Yourself’ via Napalm records. Their previous album was ‘The American Dream’ which was released waaaaaay back in 2008, via Trustkill Records. 8 years is a long time to be away, especially when the heavy music scene can be such a fickle bast. However, Walls Of Jericho have always had a dedicated fan base, and I think that is partly down to the enticing character of their engaging front-woman. Always known for wearing her heart on her sleeve, she had this to say of the new record; “Sometimes in life we lose ourselves, and for me it's always been music that's brought me back to who I am and what I love. This experience was a reminder to ‘find what you love and let it kill you!’”
There is currently no new music to share from the project, but the album has 13 tracks and will be released on vinyl and CD via Napalm Records on March 25th 2016. Can't wait :)
